Sunset Substation Pocket Park, Seattle, Washington

Studio 342 teamed with CAST Architecture to create a pocket park at a decommissioned City Light Substation. The park creates open space and a structure of solar panels to harvest 35,000 khw of energy annually. Sunset Substation Park is one of 75 projects worldwide designed to meet the Living Building Challenge - the highest standard for sustainable construction. Some of the sustainable elements found in the design include: green roof, rain water fed water feature, native planting, and the solar panel structure.
